Strawberry Chocolate Yeast Free Vegan Sweet Rolls

Strawberry Chocolate Sweet Rolls Recipe

Yeast Free Sweet Rolls are easy to make, and a great alternative to traditional yeast-style desserts like cinnamon rolls (you could even substitute the filling in this recipe for brown sugar and cinnamon to make some vegan-friendly yeast-free cinnamon rolls of your own). I made Lemon Raspberry Rolls with yeast a while back, and they were amazing. Unfortunately, it has been a bit of a challenge getting my hands on some yeast at this time, so I thought I would give these sweet rolls a try using a vegan “buttermilk” (dairy-free milk with apple cider vinegar) and baking soda combination.  I filled them with chocolate and strawberries for an extra twist on this delicious vegan dessert.

The Home Baked Vegan’s Strawberry Chocolate Yeast-Free Sweet Rolls are:

Vegan
Dairy-Free
Egg-Free
Yeast-Free
Nut-Free or soy-free (depending on which type of dairy-free milk you choose to use)

Here is the recipe for The Home Baked Vegan’s Chocolate Strawberry Yeast-Free Sweet Rolls:

Ingredients:

2 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Cup + 1 Tbsp Sugar
1 Cup + 2 tsp Dairy-free Milk
1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil, melted
1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 1/2 Cups Strawberries, Sliced
1/2 Cup Icing Sugar

Method:

In a small bowl, stir together 1 Cup Dairy-free Milk, and the apple cider vinegar. Let sit for 5 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and 1/2 Cup Sugar.
Mix the liquid into the dry ingredients, then knead for 5 – 10 minutes, until a smooth dough forms.
Roll the dough into a rectangle approximately 9″ x 13″.
In a small bowl, mix together coconut oil, cocoa powder, and 1 Tbsp of sugar.
Brush the chocolate mixture over the dough.
Place the strawberry slices on top of the chocolate, evenly distributed over the dough.
Roll the dough, lengthwise, into a long log. Slice the log into 1 1/2″ wide slices.
Place the slices, flat side down, in a 9″ x 13″ baking pan.
Bake for 23-28 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven.
While the rolls are cooling, prepare the glaze:
Mix together the icing sugar and 2 tsp dairy-free milk.
Drizzle the glaze over top of the rolls and let dry.
Enjoy!
